Members may participate in servicing our communities with donations to such organizations as the Terrell State Hospital, food for the Food Pantry, items needed for the Rainbow Room, etc. Each month specific needs will come to our attention and will be announced as that month's sommunity service donation by the committee chairperson. These are announced at the meeting. Please contact Carol Altom or Venetia D0ster if you have any questions.
Children's Quilts
These quilts are handed out to needy children or mothers of newborns. You may use a cheater cloth, but it must be quilted and bound. The quilts should measure at least 36" x 36". Please give any children's quilts you would like to donate to Lorie Vanderslice. We haven given away 36 quilts this year.
Lorie is challenging us to make 50 children's quilts this year. I know it sounds like a lot but if every member made 1 quilt, we could beat that. So far, the guild collected 63 children's quilts for this year. Keep up the good work ladies!
Rainbow Room
They are always in need of: diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, lotion, pacifiers and bottles.
Terrell State Hospital
They are always in need of: bottles of water, shampoo, gum, lotion, stamps, stationary and socks.
Genesis Center
They are always in need of: household products, baby items or school supplies. You can visit their website at: www.genesicenter.org for additional items needed.
Sunflower Nursing Home
Supplied hand-made walker bags to attach to their walkers.
